THIS DAY IN WW2 (21.12.1940)
In the Pacfic... German raiders Komet and Orion land 496 survivors (including 70 women and 7 children) from 10 British and Allied merchant ships (sunk since August) on Emirau Island, near New Guinea. The Royal Australian Navy subsequently rescues the survivors.
Over Italy... British RAF planes conduct a night raid on the Porto Marghera docks and oil installations, near Venice.
In the United States... The renowned writer, F. Scott Fitzgerald, dies of heart failure in Hollywood at age 44.
TODAY IN MY LIFE
Got a good view of the lunar eclipse this morning! A client cancellation at least makes things simpler - I can complete client follow-up, complete paperwork for the Yule break here at my practice, obtain wife's Christmas present then head home and get on with domestic stuff - I need to plan the Wedding Anniversary weekend, Download Festival (Wacken was just to much hassle) and finalise Summer Cruise. After some discussion about the weather, missus and I decided to risk it and assume the weather will be better in January. On our own heads be it!

TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
A theme of triumph over a string of minor setbacks this morning - the triumph comes in my reaction to them, and that it's all kinda working out.
TODAY'S THOUGHT
Persistence is a good paymaster.
TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU
Is this where you are meant to be?
TODAY'S ONELINER
Honestly, I'm really not trying to show you my contempt. On the contrary, I'm trying to hide it. : D
