THIS DAY IN WW2 (5.1.1941)
North Africa... Bardia is taken along with 40,000 prisoners and large numbers of guns, tanks and other vehicles. General Annibale Bergonzoli is withdrawing toward Tobruk with the still considerable remnants of his force. There have been less than 400 Allied casualties in the attack.

TODAY IN MY LIFE
Box room cleared! Unbelievable amounts of unspeakably horrid rubbish now outside, perhaps not that unbelievable considering a teenage boy was living in there! A serious vacuum is needed today that will be extended to the whole house. A trip to the jewellers is also needed to have my Silver Wedding Anniversary present (a nice new watch) adjusted in time to wear it for the day itself on Tuesday.

With missus not in until the later evening and a week off both my Practice and "supplementary job", bags of time to straighten up the house after Christmas slobbery,
