SUNDAY 16th MAY 2010 06:50(BST)

THIS DAY IN WW2 (15.5.40)
On the Western Front... The British and French forces which advanced into Belgium begin to retreat to their former positions behind the line of the Scheldt. Units of Hoth's 15th Panzer Corps, with Rommel's 7th Panzer Division, have reached just east of Cambrai. To the south, Guderian's forces are moving on St. Quentin.

In Paris... Churchill asks General Gamelin where the strategic reserve is and is told that there is none, or at least none left. Outside the room where this meeting takes place, French government employees are beginning to burn secret files.

In Washington... Roosevelt asks Congress to authorize the production of 50,000 military planes per year and for a $900,000,000 extraordinary credit to finance this massive operation.

TODAY IN MY LIFE
Woke up early and fairly enthusiastically, so spending a couple of hours blogging/"me" time before the family wakes. Will get down to that tax return this afternoon.

TODAY'S THOUGHT
The wisest voice is seldom the loudest, and the wisest of all is utterly silent, needing no language, only the mental effort of the listener.

TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
I am too blessed to be stressed!

TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU
Why take ownership of someone else's negativity?

TODAY'S ONELINER
Would you wear shoes if you had no feet? Then why are you wearing a bra? : D

GARY'S 100 CLASSIC ALBUMS YOU MUST OWN No.31
DEF LEPPARD - Pyromania (1982)
The best Leppard album IMHO

TRIVIA
The Cirrus cloud, with its distintive thin wispy curly shape, is the highest altitude cloud, and is made not of water droplets but fine ice crystals.

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
Today I will be aware of the thoughts of my ego but focused on the promptings of my intuition.
