MONDAY 4th OCTOBER 2010 07:35(BST)

After (another!) difficult day yesterday, sufficient balance has returned for a Monday edition.

THIS DAY IN WW2 (4.10.40)
In Italy... Hitler and Mussolini meet at the Brenner Pass. Hitler warns Mussolini against undertaking new campaigns and offers help in Africa, which Mussolini declines.
In London... Sir Charles Portal is chosen to be the new Chief of the Air Staff. The former chief, Sir Cyril Newall, is appointed Governor General of New Zealand.

TODAY IN MY LIFE
Taking time out for an all-day housework blitz. Getting locks changed after son had his keys stolen.

TODAY'S THOUGHT
Winning the game is the objective but not the reason for playing.

TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
I have learned not to negotiate by proxy!

TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU
What change will you make today?

TODAY'S ONELINER
I've been on so many blind dates, I should get a free dog : D

TODAY'S TUNE I LIKE
An apparently standard pop song with a deeper meaning. Sorry about the ad at the front.

TRIVIA
About 100 people choke to death on ballpoint pens each year.

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
Everything I do will make it better!
