In the North Atlantic... German U-32 is sunk during an attack on a British convoy by escorting destroyers HMS Harvester and HMS Highlander. Meanwhile, the destroyer HMS Sturdy is wrecked off the coast of Hebrides, Scotland.

TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
When fully concentrating, I no longer see my thoughts and feelings as "me" but as an experience as valid as any other. When I'm "on the ball", the number of thoughts per second decrease noticably. Distancing myself from mind/body chemistry in this way like learning anything takes practice. Actually maybe "disentangling" is a better word. It's been a long process - since embracing the concept in 2001 it's taken me 9 years to get to this point. I have a clear objective - to function as an entirely "non-local" "me" while this body/mind still lives. It's a "thing to experience" while I can.
