THIS DAY IN WW2 (12.3.40)
After a substantial improvement to the anti-aircraft and anti-submarine defences, the British Home Fleet returns to Scapa Flow from Rosyth and Loch Ewe. Seventy-two German Jews, out of 1000 deported to Poland in sealed freight cars from Stettin, die of exposure after an 18-hour march in a blizzard.

TODAY IN MY LIFE
Blogging and contemplation.

TODAY'S THOUGHT
A lie offering a simple answer is always more popular than a truth that challenges your ways.

TODAY'S SELF-OBSERVATION
I will never know myself so fully that I can do without reminding.

TODAY'S ONELINER
A business convention is a meeting where lots of people dressed in suits all pretend that everything's brilliant. : D

TODAY'S QUESTION FOR YOU
Is your time out strengthening you for time after?

GARY'S DESERT ISLAND 100 Track 40
MOTORHEAD - (We Are) The Road Crew
Regardless of mood, this number makes me smile!

TRIVIA
Insects and arachnids (scorpions/spiders) and other invertebrates are limited in size because they depend on simple diffusion to breathe. Too big and they wouldn't get enough oxygen to stay alive. In the Carboniferous Period (360-300 million years ago) when the oxygen content of the atmosphere hit 35%, scorpions a metre long were common.

TODAY'S AFFIRMATION
Whatever role I play today, I will remember who I truly am.
